Rushden and District Dog Training Club

Puppy  Foundation Class:

This class is our puppy socialisation course for dogs up to 1 year old, covering basic training following the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation standards.

(Mondays 6:30 - 7:30 pm)

COSTS

It costs £10 for annual family membership, and £40 for each 8 week training course other than the Master Classes which cost £25 for 4 weeks.

Please note that we are a non-profit making club run by the members for the members.  Our charges are calculated to cover the expenses of our  trainers, the hire of the hall, and other basic club running costs.  We have to commit ourselves in advance to most costs and can only undertake courses where the numbers of trainees so permit us.  We are not therefore generally able to offer refunds to trainees leaving part way through a course or otherwise unable to attend.

On Signing On Night, (see page: Dates for your Diary) please bring your dog's vaccination certificate but NOT your dog.

As a family club, we hope that you will all feel welcome and take time to enjoy our classes and maybe stop for a chat.

We hope you will find the training and information both interesting and helpful. If you have any problems or queries please do not hesitate to ask the committee members and trainers who are always happy to help.

All of our classes and most other functions are held at the Memorial Hall, Church Lane, Wymington, NN10 9LW. (see map on 'Contact Us' page.

Training Courses

Good Citizen Silver/Gold/Pre Beginners Class and Other Classes:

The Silver/Gold/Pre-Beginner classes follow on from the Junior course and are for people who want to do a bit more with their dogs.        Please note that as the Silver and Gold tests require a little roadwork, we are unable to offer tests for these courses over the Winter period.

For the November 2019 to January 2020 courses we are running a combined Silver/Gold class on Tuesdays evenings from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.

*

When attending classes please bring a quantity of high value treats for your dog.  We find that small pieces of sausage or cheese usually work well.  It is also a good idea not to feed your dog just before a class.

Please note that, dependent on the numbers and abilities of dogs registering for classes, we may vary both the content and the tests to be taken at the end of each class to best suit the trainees.

Currently we are running the following classes:

Junior Class:

This class follows on from the Puppy Foundation course, and builds towards the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze and  Silver Awards.

(Mondays 7:30 - 8:30 pm)

MASTER CLASSES:

These classes are for those who already compete in obedience competitions or want to start.

(Tuesdays 7:30 - 8:30 pm and 8:30 - 9:30 pm)
